About the Classrooms

Kindergarten
In the younger ages, children are drawn to the sensory materials to prepare them for later tasks. They work in the areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Geography, and Science. They also participate in a curriculum that teaches Peace and Conflict Management.

Lower and Upper Elementary: Grades 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6
As the child grows, the hands-on materials help move the learner from the concrete to the abstract. Children in the elementary program create work plans to meet their short-term and long-term goals. They work through the curriculum to meet all state standards and many times exceed them. Montessori’s Great Lessons are presented through work in the curriculum that includes, Language, Math, Geometry, Geography, Science (including Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, and Botany).
